RETREATS CAN BE LIFE-CHANGING.
They are a true escape from the stresses of life for people to take care of themselves, whether it is to reduce stress, create clarity, improve their health or even create an inspiring sense of achievement. Retreats help more and more people to commit to nourishing self-care, whilst experiencing the culture that this world has to offer.
Nirvana Wellbeing Retreat and Healing Sanctuary currently offers fully inclusive residential packages from two to fourteen days, on set dates, in comfortable facilities. Retreats are based on the combined unparalleled healing modalities of Mindfulness, Yoga, and Ayurveda that have been refined over 5,000 years, and remain both applicable and effective for today.
Your “why”
Deeply reflect upon, consider, understand and articulate your own motivations (your why) when pursuing initiatives such as hosting events and retreats. Ensure that these align with your broader goals, and the needs of those you are serving. This alignment is crucial for creating something meaningful, sustainable, and mutually beneficial.
Vision
Be encouraged by taking concrete steps towards implementing your ideas. The more personal something is, the more universal it is. Start with small, achievable goals before scaling up to larger endeavours such as hosting retreats.
Retreat Pricing
Challenges attracting younger participants (under 24 years old) and struggling to fill retreat spots and make a profit can be off putting. Do not indulge in limiting beliefs about pricing, participant affordability, how much money potential participants have, and how they choose to spend it. Assess and potentially challenge your personal limiting beliefs, and take into consideration any strategies you may have for attracting a diverse participant base.
Hosting retreats for specific audiences
Consider looking at entering into business partnerships when organising retreats which are paid for by organisations, instead of by individual participants eg. corporate groups or university faculties. Explore collaborative models where organisations can fund participation, to enhance accessibility and inclusivity for attendees. Again, it is critically important to understand and articulate your own motivations (your why) when pursuing business partnerships in initiatives such as hosting retreats.
Ideal Structure for a successful retreat
The ideal daily schedule for a retreat is one which has been designed to balance structured activities and free time, ensuring guests feel engaged without being overwhelmed.
We recommend:
- movement before breakfast
- breakfast at 8
- workshop at 10
- lunch at 12
- workshop at 2
- free time at 4 (spa, excursion, treatments etc)
- dinner at 6
- and then an evening ceremony.
Play with this schedule framework to maximise participant engagement and satisfaction. Adopting this structure allows for significant learning and interaction while also providing necessary downtime.
